The goal of this organization is to equip secondary and post-secondary students from traditionally marginalized groups with the tools needed to thrive professionally, academically, and in the face of adversity.
Casandra’s passion for mentoring students of color and increasing diversity in science related fields stems from her experience at the intersection of race and gender. Her interest in sciences piqued with the onset of her Type 1 diabetes in July 2013. Her experience as an African American woman in spaces that include few minorities have given her the grace to prosper in the face of adversity; a delicate skill set she wishes to equip the youth of today with. She is excited to not only prepare students interested in STEAM, but plans to help all students thrive professionally and academically.
